Centralized supplier database

Colleagues, I'm interested in your opinions. How important is it to maintain a centralized supplier database with a complete history of interactions? Currently, this is scattered across various systems and people. Sometimes it's even difficult to understand who made the decision to collaborate. It seems this is affecting business transparency. How are you addressing this issue?

  • Supplier history is a foundation; without it, it is impossible to properly analyze decisions.
  • More broadly, supplier management is no longer just procurement, but a fully-fledged element of business control. I saw a case where a company implemented precoro and brought order to its contractor database in just a few weeks. Previously, the data was disparate, but afterward, everything became centralized and transparent. Supplier documents and statuses are now tracked in the system. This relieves the team of workload, and in my opinion, such tools provide stability in the long term. And this, in my opinion, is their main advantage.
