Dear advocates

According to the   second part of the article 40 of the RA Constitution ,3  members from   the RA  Central  Electoral  Commission are appointed according to the offer of  the Human Rights Defender of the RA, 2 members  are appointed according to the offer  of  the president  of the Court of Cassation, 2 members according  to the offer of the Chairman of the Chamber of Advocates of the RA.  According to the offer of the President of the Court of Cassation  and  the Chairman of the Chamber of Advocates of the RA  the two appointed members should be representatives of different sex, and one of them must have  juridical education or be PhD in law.  On 2011 the candidacy of the  two following members were submitted  by the ex-Chairman  of the Chamber of Advocates of the RA  Ruben Sahakyan – advocate Georgi Martirosyan, and citizen Silva Markosyan. Taking into consideration the fact that  the authorization of adv. G. Martirosyan is ending , it its necessary  to  represent  a new candidate.  The Chamber of Advocates of the RA  is planning  to  offer  the President  a new  advocate candidacy of male sex for    being a member of RA CEC . In case of  self-nomination of 2 or more candidates  , the Chairman of the Chamber of Advocates  of the RA  will make a decision based on the suggestion  of the Board. The female representatives can represent  their candidacy   in the Chamber of Advocates of the RA  from   30 May  till  10 June(including), 2014.  Let us remind you that the member of the Central Electoral Commission can be  the citizen of the RA with a voting right , which  does not carry  public-political  activity and has

1. higher legal education and at least 3 years of experience  in the professional field for the last 5 years
2. PhD in law and at least 3 years of practice in the professional field
3. Higher education  ant at least  5 years of experience  in the professional field  for the last 10 years
4. Higher education   and at least 3 years of experience in the electoral commission  or in the staff of the Board  for the last 5 years.
